New staff in AIL
Abel Sepúlveda completed in University of Malaga, Spain his BsC in Industrial Technologies and his MsC in Industrial Engineering. His bachelor and master theses focused on optimization problems for energy supply in trigeneration systems and cooling systems at partial load. In 2018, he worked in the topic of visual and thermal comfort as a research assistant and researcher for the German research center Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE). He did his 240 ECTS PhD program in Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech), Estonia. His PhD thesis proposes a design workflows to ensure daylight and summer thermal comfort in buildings. After his PhD period, he started working for TalTech as a postdoctoral researcher to, among other research lines, to study the applicability of daylight standards for buildings in different climatic context using a mixed-method approach. From March 1, he works in AIL as postdoctoral researcher to investigate novel experiment-based methodologies to study satisfactory thresholds for different aspects of daylight in buildings: view out, daylight provision, sunlight exposure, and glare protection.
